AutoPligg Spam Tool - Pligg Spam Information

In case you are for some reason both interested in Pligg and also *not* subscribed to Social CMS Buzz RSS feeds…. I thought I would bring this post to your attention:

As odd as it might sound, I actually assumed that a tool like this already existed -

just judging by some of the waves of spam I have seen come through. But now that I think about it, I haven’t yet seen the other stuff mentioned, namely - the associated fake user accounts and votes.

It is a bit easier to manage the spam if it stays in the queue with few votes.

The one item mentioned in the comments of the post is to look into reCAPTCHA… I’ll probably be taking a look at that soon.

I stumbled across this just after reading about how someone gamed Twitter as well.

Philosophically, I like to think that this cat and mouse game makes for better systems in the end. That being said, I am none too pleased at the prospect of my pligg sites getting swamped with spammy junk!
